CRICKET ROADSHOWS

Week 1 Preview - 11 May, Shenley

Roadshow to unveil England squad

England's squad for the opening npower Test against Sri Lanka will be exclusively unveiled by David Graveney, chairman of selectors, live on Channel 4's Cricket Roadshow on Saturday morning.

The squad announcement will form the centre-piece of the programme's action packed opening show, broadcast live from Shenley (between 1000-1100) where the touring Sri Lankans are playing Middlesex in their final warm-up game before the Lord's Test.

Other features will include an in-depth look at Sanath Jayasuriya's Sri Lankan tourists, with particular emphasis on how they'll fare at Lord's without their talismanic off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan and an insider's look at their batting line-up from specialist coach and Channel 4 commentator Barry Richards.

He will be joined on the show by regular presenters Mark Nicholas and Sybil Ruscoe, both back for a fourth year at the helm, while newcomer Michael Atherton will make his official Cricket Roadshow bow.

Other topics up for discussion will include a look back at the inaugural England Cricket Academy in Adelaide, an investigation into the changing pace of Test cricket and an interview with recently retired former England bowler Angus Fraser.

Roadshow regulars Michael Slater and Adam Darke are also back on board, with the former joining Richards and Atherton for a masterclass on opening the batting.

As ever viewers will be able to email the Cricket Roadshow both before and during the programme (click here), while Atherton will be on hand for a live web chat after the show. Anyone wanting to speak to Athers can submit their question now by clicking here.
