Q: Which captain calls during the toss?

A: Tradition dictates that the home captain tosses the coin and the away captain makes the call, although a new ruling by the International Cricket Council says the match referee now has to toss the coin.

This did not happen in the most recent England v Australia Test match at Edgbaston as Nasser Hussain (far left) still wanted to toss the coin and the match referee Talat Ali (far right) acquiesced.

In the event Steve Waugh (middle) called correctly and elected to bowl first.
