He describes the conception of Operation Overlord and the marshalling of the great forces, German and Anglo-American, on opposite sides of the English Channel. The story continues with the events that made D-Day forever synonymous with 6 June 1944. There are maps, newsreels, personal testimonies and hundreds of photographs.
