Nick travels to the snowiest place in Britain. On a winter morning in the Cairngorm Mountains, Nick discovers the meaning of the word 'cold'. Luckily the mountain rescue team is standing by to give a hand.
Up in the mountains, Nick learns about avalanches, white-outs and blizzards. But he discovers that most of the people killed by snow in Britain are a long way from the highs of the Cairngorm crags. In most parts of Britain it only takes a couple of inches of snow to create havoc on the roads and this is where most of the tragedies happen.
