Autumn 2080 Based on the outcome of the high emissions scenario from the Hadley climate models, here is a sample of the weather that we might experience in autumn 2080. The modelers call the high emissions scenario the 'business as normal' scenario. In other words, this is what the weather will be like if we make no effort to curb our effect on global warming.

Autumn arrives much later in 2080. Balmy days last into October and you're still cutting the grass well into December in the southern counties. Still, at least the cooler evenings give some relief from the swarms of mosquitoes that have taken up residency in the British Isles. Cases of malaria have greatly increased over the last decade or so – malaria-carrying mosquitoes thrive in the warmer and more humid climate that the UK now experiences.
