The
views and opinions in Terra 2050 came from informal interviews
with a wide range of people from all walks of life in the UK,
Europe and beyond. They include:
Professor Colin Pillinger C.B.E. at the Open University Department
of Planetary Sciences
Professor Kevin Warwick at the University of Reading specialises
in Cybernetics and is a real cyborg himself!
Sue Minter is Head of Horticulture at the Eden Project in Cornwall
Simon Skillings is UK Head of Strategy at E.ON UK (formerly
Powergen)
Christopher Lazou is a Super Computing Consultant
Cindy Baxter is a Greenpeace UK spokesperson
Mat Collins is a Climatologist at the Met Office
Michael Wood is a Historian
A group of ladies from the over 60's club at Prideaux House
in Hackney, East London (conveniently situated near the filmmakers
studio).
Also taking part were:
A local restaurant owner, a computer scientist, an architect,
a musician, a
cell biologist, an artist, an art curator, a peace campaigner,
and the filmmakers 5 year old nephew who invented 'bread sandwiches
flavour pizza' for the film!
Some of the illustrations were created by the contributors
too:
Olivia and Connall Mclaughlin, aged 11 and 6, provided the jetpack
illustrations. Connall provided the dialogue, and artist Collin
Hawkins provided both the dialogue and illustrations on chickens.
Terra 2050 was produced by Christos Hatjoullis at Shroom Studios
in East London. The production was directed by the three partners
of Shroom, Chris, his brother Alex Hatjoullis and Christian
Krupa, who were assisted by animator Iain Welland. The films
were truly a family affair, with Chris and Alex's father and
uncle contributing to the animation - artist Mike Hatjoullis
and 'Beano' illustrator Uncle Emilo Hatjoullis provided storyboards
and character designs. |
