Rachel is one of two women in the world to ever complete British
special forces selection. This stemmed from her time in the Territorial
Army. While she was in the TA she was placed in top 6 in men's elite
category for army national climbing championships. She also won a
number of awards for her climbing and mountaineering photography.
She started rock climbing in 1992 and began to compete almost immediately.
Rachel came first in the South African National Speed Climbing Championships
1997 and kept her title for three years. While in Britain, she has
had to compete along with the men rather than the women.
Rachel represented the UK in the Eco Challenge 2000 in Borneo.
She has a degree in Fine Art and a postgraduate in Education, Art,
Drama and Photography from Oxford University.
She's also done stunt work on some major films in South Africa.
