What makes someone Superhuman?
Using some of the toughest scientific tests ever seen on TV and
devised by leading academic experts, Channel 4 aimed to find out
just who were Britain's most extraordinary man and woman.
From over 2000 applicants we carefully selected 10 men and women
who displayed Superhuman POTENTIAL.
Our ten contestants had to undergo 12 gruelling tests that pushed
their physical, mental and psychological skills to the limit and
beyond. The aim: to weed out the weakest and reward perfection.
Drawing on their every skill and ability they had to prove that
they were the true Superhuman.
How did they cope with oxygen starvation (hypoxia), extreme G-Force,
sleep deprivation and even a simulated helicopter crash into water
- not to mention the eliminations.
The winners, one male and one female, received the ultimate accolade
of being crowned Superhuman and featured in a special exhibition
at the Science Museum.
