Thank you to everyone who took part in the Code Challenge, and congratulations to K G Gough from Herefordshire, who is the lucky winner of a holiday to Egypt.
If you have already taken the challenge and wish to check the answer, you can do so. New visitors are invited to test their codebreaking skills with the help of some hints and tips given on these pages.
Each deciphered message will point towards a specific letter of the alphabet. Once you have collected all five letters, you must rearrange them to form the name of a well-known composer. Your final task is to identify a work by this composer that has a title related to the history of cryptography.
