Land Tugs

Land Tugs

Two triumphant teams of engineering obsessives have reached the final, but in order to be top of the 'heap they must take on one of the biggest builds in the series' history.

Military vehicle fans the Rusty Regiment from Berkshire and the Dark Riders, bad boy bikers from Blackpool, have already proved their mettle in other challenges, but this time they'll be stretched to the limit.

They have just 10 hours to build a towing tug capable of pulling a 155-tonne jumbo jet along, and they must construct their contraptions out of scrap. The machines have to haul the aircraft down a 200-metre course and the team that clocks up the fastest time will be declared winners of this year's Scrapheap Challenge Champions Cup.

Who will be left standing and who will master the three Ts – traction, torque and towing.
