This week's bodging bonanza is a real 'heap treat. The teams must build super-swift vehicles capable of racing up and over Scrapheap's very own desert dunes.
Sand is notoriously difficult to drive on as it's difficult to achieve grip, especially uphill. This surface has been keeping rally enthusiasts entertained for years; the most famous and inhospitable event being the Paris-Dakar Rally, where highly modified machines are given the toughest of tests against the ultimate in savage, sandy terrain.So the two teams – the Happy Campers, a trio of camper van enthusiasts from Bridgewater, and the Dark Riders, a team of motorbike enthusiasts from Blackpool – are going to have to whip up a sandstorm of scrap if they're to have any hope of winning what promises to be an uphill battle.
