The All-Stars Competing for the title are the Scrapheap All Stars, led by ‘Proper Job’ Andy Barnes, supported by scavengers Big Andy and Hadrian Spooner. Their design is based around three bicycles. Two of the bikes will be used conventionally to get the machine moving. The third bike will be used to power a heavy flywheel, the most basic of any energy storage devices. Once up to speed, the team can release all of the stored energy in one hit and shoot off down the track. |
