Giant Archery
Once again Scrapheap Challenge has opened its rusty garage doors and thrown down the oily gauntlet to the great bodging British public for the second of two roadshows.
Sixteen teams of backyard bodgers from around the UK are battling it out for the chance to take on the crème de la crème of the engineering world - the Scrapheap All Stars.
Bodelwyddan Castle in North Wales is the venue for the second roadshow. Teams from around the country have been challenged to build giant mechanical bows capable of launching 4-foot arrows, making for an archery tournament of epic proportions.
Awaiting the day's top all-comers team is a showdown with the mighty Scrapheap All-Stars - policeman Bowser, ballistics expert Nikki Woolmore and ingenious medieval weaponry expert Tod Todeschini. Judging the challenge is Scrapheap veteran Steve Ralphs, a master archer and expert on the history of the bow. He designs and builds weapons for Hollywood blockbusters like Gladiator and Robin Hood Prince of Thieves.
Will the All Stars win back some credibility after last week's defeat?
