Cathy’s dream In 1997, inspired by the movie Apollo 13, TV researcher Cathy Rogers cooked up the idea of Scrapheap Challenge. Presenter Sally Grey oversaw two teams as they battled through the 'heap, trying to build a hovercraft for the very first show. With only one of the machines barely functional, the pilot show was presented to Channel 4, who commissioned a six-episode series. |
