The Test
The teams started just six metres apart on either side of the sumo ring and it would be the best of three rounds. In the event of breakdown or surrender the other team would win the round and of course if they were pushed out of the ring then their opponent would win the round.
So the teams faced off...but what was this? The Super Subs had a secret weapon – water pistols! Hardly playing fair but the Subs would need all the help they could get as the Taxis began slamming into them.
After an intense first round, it was one:nil to the Taxis, who literally ran the Subs into the ground leaving them completely broken down with a smashed wheel and broken back axle. After some frantic welding the Subs got back in the ring, but with little hope of winning against the all powerful Taxis.
With the ground made wet to challenge the teams further for the final rounds, the Subs' machine had even less grip, but the Taxis' 4x4 was having no problems. A game of cat and mouse ensued but the Subs were finally run out with their vehicle in pieces.
It was a resounding victory for the Taxis and a testament to their great Scrapheap skills. For the Subs there's nothing to do but go back under the waves, wondering what might have been.
