Welcome to the sixth series of Scrapheap Challenge, which promises to be more bodgetastic and scraperific than ever. Our crack team of Scrapheap research squirrels have dreamt up some of the most logic-defying, sanity-denying challenges to test this year's entrants, who range from members of the police force to the RAF and the Royal Navy. We've also got teddy-boys, young farmers, medieval jousters, estate agents and even (now brace yourselves boys … – Ed) girls – all with their eyes on glory.

Who'll win the series final and take home the coveted Scrapheap trophy? Will the series winner have any chance of out-clawing our reigning champions, the Cat-alysts, the staggeringly hard-working, ferociously well-organised, boringly successful team limbering up to compete in their third grand final?

The Scrapheap website

Scrapheap Challenge is dirty, dangerous and exciting. The Scrapheap website is clean, safe and … exciting. What more could you ask for?

Each week the website has an article explaining the science in greater detail than is possible on the show. There are team diaries, telling what really happened from the competitors' point of view. There are also biogs of our illustrious presenters Robert and Lisa, FAQs answering, well, the most frequently asked questions, links to other scraptastic websites and the brand-spanking new Club Scrapheap.

Imagine a cross between Club 18-30 and Club Tropicana. Throw in Lisa Rogers, Cathy Rogers and Kylie Minogue. Now think of something completely different. Really concentrate, there's a chance you might be imagining Club Scrapheap, an area dedicated to the flaky side of Scrapheap Challenge. It's where you get to have your say. It's where the magical, mysterious Scrapheap cat answers any question you can dream up.
