Ron Knight has spent his whole life in the beautiful countryside around Stamford in Lincolnshire, where he is both a farmer and an engineer. He loves restoring vintage agricultural machinery and has worked on everything from combines to caterpillar tractors and horse-drawn reaper binders. But he is also a very skilled agricultural engineer.
Ron's company produces up-to-date crop spraying machines which are sold all over the world. He started out by building a crop sprayer to use on his own farm; it proved such a success that his neighbour asked if he could have one and a business was born.
While he enjoys being in his high tech factory, he is happiest in the barn on his farm, working on his collection of historic combines, which includes Claas, International Harvesters, Ransomes and Massey Harris 21s. Salvage Squad is giving him his first chance to help restore a Massey Harris 780.
Ron's grandfather was a blacksmith and he is proud to continue the family tradition. Whether it's forging, welding, folding, fabricating or riveting, Ron has the skills to do the work himself and he loves a challenge he can really get his teeth into. The only problem is that he has his own farm and isn't certain he can get our combine harvester fixed in time for him to bring in his own crops.
