Simulcast
The last of the Royal Institution's Christmas Lectures entitled I, ROBOT, was broadcast live on Channel 4 on 30th December 2000. The lecture was also simulcast - broadcast live over the internet - from this webpage. You can still watch the lecture by following the directions below.

To be able to watch the simulcast lecture on your computer, your web browser will need to have the RealPlayer 8 plug-in installed. You can download it from the link in the right hand frame.

Click here to see the low resolution webcast of the last Christmas Lecture, and click here to see the high resolution.

Once you've downloaded the plug-in, put it in the plug-in directory (or folder for Mac users) which is inside your browser's directory (or folder). Close your browser and restart it again. The plug-in should now be active for you to watch the simulcast. But that's not all... you'll now be able to watch the video clips on the Science & Technology pages too!

Enjoy it!
