Episode 1: Haunted House
Sunday 3 September, 5.45pm

A stately homeowner wants to encourage more tourists to visit by the MiW creating a resident ghoul. Adam investigates fear and adrenalin. Basil and Jem create fog screens, static wind and some other frights.

A cyclist would benefit from having his journey time decreased by being able to cycle on water. The guys build a dynamic turbo-charged amphibious bicycle for our intrepid mountain-biking sales exec!

A country runner jogs everyday in the countryside near his house, which is really peaceful except when he's caught up by huge dogs that chase him across the fields. MiW create different repellents including lion wee that emits a smell to scare dogs away.


Episode 2: Rock Lab
Sunday 10 September, 5.45pm

The MiW spot a wanted ad placed by an old rocker in need of new tricks. To create a different sounding band, the MiW design weird instruments that they demonstrate in a live gig.

A plea comes in from a boy whose dad just can not dance! The MiW design dancing shoes to give him rhythm with a series of electric shocks.

MIW are challenged to build a machine that can skim a stone with guaranteed success. Can the MiW get close to the world record of 38 skips?

Once and for all the MiW settle the old argument about who dealt it by building a fart detector!


Episode 3: Extreme Sport
Sunday 17 September, 5.45pm

An adrenalin junkie wants help to find his next hit. Can the MiW come up with a new way to get his heart racing? With a mixture of creative thinking and unusual engineering, the boys hit the mark with the world's first carpet surf!

A cycle courier has had his bike nicked and wants the MiW to beat the thieves. Jem and Basil design a proximity alarm which sends texts from the bike to a mobile, and they install reverse steering onto their bike with wicked consequences.

Kelly throws like a girl and is too lazy to exercise her dog, Doogle. MiW build a dog ball thrower operated by the dog itself.


Episode 4: Mucky Flatmate
Sunday 24 September, 5.45pm

A housemate makes a plea for help in clearing up after flatmates. The intrepid team make cleaning more appealing with a pick-up claw, crockery target practice and a germicidal UV light that can zap bugs.

Wouldn't it be great if falling off a horse didn't hurt? The MiW devise a personal air bag to prevent serious injury from a heavy fall. To achieve this, our three whizzes work out which parts of the body are most vulnerable and how to protect them with novel airbag mechanics and compressed gasses.

A courier who is nearly mown down on a daily basis needs the ultimate horn. The MiW create a bag which imitates the sound of an articulated lorry to scare any vehicles, people or space cadets who get in the way.


Episode 5: Unclampable Car
Sunday 1 October, 5.45pm

The MiW create a car that will repel even the most intrepid traffic warden. Levers, smells, mobile phones, hey this is hip gadget heaven.

Cats that live in a first floor flat need a way out. Otherwise pooping pussies are set to stink the house out. MiW rush to the rescue with a cool kitty lift.

MiW get the call to pimp a prosthesis. The guys incorporate all sorts of devices, including an MP3 player, a bottle opener, lights and serious sounds.

A small lad with a big personality needs a boost. The MiW build gadgets which big his muscles up, make him taller and scarier.


Episode 6: Sleepy Head
Sunday 8 October, 5.45pm

MiW must create a Wallace and Gromit-style bed with gadgets that will pump up the world's laziest student. Will it get him to college on time?

A girly girl who hates DIY and is renovating her house needs MiW to make her a gadget that takes the time and effort out of painting. See a paint bomb and a pump-action paint firing squad in action.

An office chair keeps going walkies, and a furious employee needs help. The MiW create a remote-controlled 'electric chair' to teach the culprit a lesson. Hidden cameras reveal whodunit to MiW.

A football team that lacks lustre when it comes to penalty-taking need help from the appliance of science. To lend a helping hand, the MiW do some light analysis of the lads' shooting style. Using an adapted speed camera, they develop a set-up to help them hone their power-shooting skills. Something the England football team could benefit from?
