About FameLab

FameLab is an initiative of the Cheltenham Science Festival and is supported by Channel 4.

Now in its third successful year, FameLab is a national competition to discover the new public faces of UK science. Each year, hundreds of hopeful scientists attend national heats to present live in front of prominent figures from the world of science. The lucky winners of each heat then compete at the grand FameLab final at the Cheltenham Science Festival on 9 June 2007.

This year the prize includes:
• A master-class in science communication
• An international tour of speaking engagements
• An internship at Channel 4
• £2000

This year's Cheltenham Science Festival takes place between 6 June and 10 June 2007. For more information please go to www.cheltenhamfestivals.co.uk.

FameLab is supported by the Daily Telegraph. Roger Highfield, Science Editor, is one of four judges at the Cheltenham Science Festival. His articles, including coverage of FameLab, can be found at www.telegraph.co.uk/connected.

FameLab is sponsored by NESTA (the National Endowment for Science Technology and the Arts) Pfizer and Research Councils UK.
