First they build the toughest structure they can design and then they knock it down! In each of eight programmes, two teams have three days to design and construct a building for a specific purpose. On the fourth day the buildings are tested, then they are handed over to the opposing team, who choose their tools then race to demolish their opponents' work.

In an amazing feat of co-ordination, all the materials arrive on time and the contestants are recruited. Each team consists of a design engineer, a builder and a destroyer who, with the help of a construction gang, put their structures together. These are judged by an expert, who analyses the designs and oversees the tests. A health and safety enforcer hands out time penalties to any team working dangerously.
