Jerome Lynch
Roger Cook and Jenny Ecair

Dead Man of Drumbeg

The investigators

Co-ordinating the investigation is Jerome Lynch QC, a barrister, whose job it is to guide and judge the team’s solutions. He puts his clear-thinking legal brain to work, relentlessly forcing our investigators to arrive at the right answers. This week our sleuths are:

Jenny Éclair, irreverent comic and writer. She lives in south London and is emotionally about as far from the rural Scotland as can possibly be imagined.

Roger Cook, hard-nosed professional investigator. In programmes, such as The Cook Report, he has tackled an array of low-life from gangsters to sly cheats.

As soon as the pair confront the details of the murder they revert to type. Cook uses his trained eye to look for clues logically and calmly, while Éclair relies more on her emotions. 'His eyes are too close together,' she remarks about one of the suspects. 'I don’t like him at all.'
