The Sahara: Part One

| Back | Next | |
Bear bites down on another tasty desert animal. This time it's a lizard called a sandfish; so-called because it tunnels through the sand so effectively that it virtually swims through it. The best times to move around in the desert are when it's cooler – early in the morning and at dusk. Walking around in the heat of the day is a recipe for disaster; on the second day, another crewmember is evacuated and treated for heatstroke. |
