After his tasty supper, Bear settles down for the night. Although the dusk brings a welcome cooling off, the night can actually get very cold. Temperatures can plummet to about freezing point, which makes a fire essential. Bear makes himself a bed of palm fronds as insulation against the sand that loses its heat quickly and draws heat from the body. |
