Haug's future lies the hands of Professor Xu Kecheng. 'There are lots of difficulties with Haung's operation,' explains Professor Xu. 'Firstly, the tumour has a rich supply of blood with many veins that we have to stop from bleeding. The second problem is the inside of his mouth, which will be cut a lot, so we will have to remake his mouth. The final problem is his ear, which is still connected to his brain. We can't cut it off, so we have to find a way of keeping his ear canal open.'
