Thirst kicks in

Thirst kicks in
Back    Next

The storm dies down and night falls. The group are beginning to deteriorate as they start to experience the first pangs of deep thirst and dangerous dehydration. They are facing a second night without food and water.

At the same time, the sharks are keeping a close track on them. Throughout the night the crew must sit tight while sharks push the vulnerable dingy around. Bumping is normal investigative behaviour for sharks, especially if they have smelt prey.

The second night passes, but on the third day the situation is looking desperate. Meg's wounds have clearly become infected, the bottom of the boat is fetid and the whole crew are beginning to turn delirious.
