Jim looks for help

Jim made it to the truck that night. He collapsed inside and slept. The following morning he followed the track back the way they had driven. Exhausted, dehydrated, with frostbite setting in, but determined and full of adrenaline, he continued on like an automaton. All day he saw no-one. He passed a second night out in the frozen wastes. On the eighth day he finally ran into help – local Dave Peterson. Dave takes Jim home and goes out to find Jennifer. She and Clayton are still alive. The family are reunited in hospital nine days after they left home. Jennifer and Jim have all their toes amputated but Clayton is fine, just dehydrated and hungry. |
