In the morning, Jennifer couldn't walk. Her hips had seized up entirely. Jim faced an awful truth: he must leave his young wife and tiny baby and hope he could summon help in time to save them. Secreted in a cave, Jennifer, terrified, concentrated on keeping herself and Clayton hydrated by melting snow in her mouth or licking water from the rocks around her. |
