Craig returns to the chopper to fix the radio

Craig returns to the chopper to fix the radio
Back    Next

Craig decides to get himself back to the chopper to see if he can fix the radio. He risks his life to do so, but is the only one who knows enough about choppers to do it.

As he works on the radio, Craig has to go backwards and forwards to a small rocky ridge where the air is easier to breath. Eventually, he hooks the radio up to a camera battery and makes contact with another pilot. Now, rescue crews are alerted.

A rescue helicopter is sent out and radios Craig to get their position. The weather and visibility are so bad though that the 'copter can't get into the crater and the team have to abandon the air rescue. A ground crew make it to the volcano rim but find it is so unstable that they risk sending a landslide down on top of Chris and Mike.
