A storm blows up on their first night. Some of the crew have been celebrating a little too much and Meg has fallen on deck and badly hurt her back. Deborah and Brad are called out of their beds as the journey begins to turns into mayhem. The engine has overheated, and the sails would be useless in such weather. John calls the coastguard for help and they are advised to put in at the nearest port of Wilmington, North Carolina. But John hasn’t brought charts for this part of the coast. |
