Xtremists
Series 1
Series Summary
Why are more and more people courting death in the name of excitement? And who is making all the danger money?
This three-part series visits the 'land divers' of South Pentecost, the inspiration behind the (much safer) Western sport of bungee jumping, and witnesses the free spirits hurtling down 60 degree faces at Verbier Extreme - the biggest event in the snowboarding calendar.
As for the future of extreme sports - check out 'rock crawling'. This is where contestants drive a big car as fast as possible up an impossible cliff. Brakes aren't really needed; gravity tends to take care of things.
