What's Vanity Lair about?

Monday 01 June 2009

Alexa Chung welcomes you to the luxurious Vanity Lair, home of ten beautiful Lairmates. Each is competing to be crowned the most beautiful and win a cool £10,000.

  • How creative are you?

    Monday 01 June 2009

The lairmates have to dedicate a poem to a fellow housemate and Larissa is particularly excited about using 'adjecteeeves' and 'betaphors'. As a twist the lairmates have to read their poems sat in front of their chosen 'target' and there are some amazingly bad results. Oh, and Nicole cries all the way through at the sheer beauty of it all.

  • How romantic are you?

    Monday 01 June 2009

This week the lairmates get to grips with their romantic sides and performed a swoonsome speech in front of a camera. Nice.

  • How fit are you?

    Monday 01 June 2009

This week the lairmates take on a physical endurance test to determine which of the group is the fittest. They are asked to cycle on an exercise bike for a few minutes and the amount of oxygen they produce will show how fit they are. Incidentally they are asked to do this by a man who helps train Premiership football players, so he should know what he's doing.

  • How sexy are you?

    Monday 01 June 2009

This week, the contestants have to perform a sexy dance routine for the cameras. They are given a whole room full of sexy outfits to choose from, some of which leave little to the imagination, some of which require a lot of it. As you would expect by now, few of the lairmates are shy about stripping off especially new contestant Lizzie who is a professional stripper and Thomas who is a professional egotist.

  • How funny are you?

    Monday 01 June 2009

The contestants are given five minutes to prepare a stand-up comedy routine which they must perform to camera. Thomas is the group joker so far but he refuses to come up with anything – probably a better option than the rest of the group who are SERIOUSLY unfunny.> The twist in this week's test is that the routines they performed to camera were only a rehearsal for performing in front of the whole group. Crikey! Nerves get the better of them and most of the routines are cringe worthy. Andrew, however, surpasses them all with a bizarre routine which revolves around him putting on the voice of a ten-year-old. This is a truly bewildering experience for the lairmates and we think Scott's face sums up the feelings of most of the contestants quite neatly.
