Kirstie and Phill took on the great outdoors in Morocco and Iceland

Kirstie and Phill took on the great outdoors with holidays in Morocco and Iceland.

If you have your own ideas for an adventure holiday with a difference, leave your comments at the bottom of the page.

Here's Kirstie and Phil's itinerary:

Featured budget accomodation in Morocco:

Mamouchthka (website in French)

Alternative budget hotel in Morocco:

Kasbah du Toubkal

This British-owned hotel in the Atlas mountains has rapidly become a part of the local community. By charging a 5% surcharge on customers' bills, the hotel has helped to fund two ambulances, a new school for girls and a hammam for the local community. For travellers, the hotel is in the heart of the Atlas Mountains, and the hotel has a hiking lodge in the next valley, for those who want adventure and comfort combined.

Alternative budget hotel in Iceland:

Luna Hotel Apartments

Even if you don't have a lot of cash to splash, this hotel will give you a cheap base to try and see the Northern Lights. An apartment hotel is a great option if you're travelling as a group.

Featured budget activities in Morocco:

Quad biking at Mamouchthka

Tubing by Morocco Adventure Tours

Alternative budget activity in Morocco:

Surf Maroc

A surf board is possibly the only form of transport Kirstie and Phil don't try during the series. However, Morocco's Atlantic coast is a great chance to find some waves, and numerous operators can provide lessons, kit and a variety of accommodation options.

Featured luxury accommodation in Iceland:

Hotel Ranga

Alternative luxury hotels in Iceland:

Hotel Brimnes

This hotel's Finnish-style log cabins mean that even though you're right at the north of Iceland, you can still get cozy with a log fire and a hot tub.

Hotel Borg

If you like to mix city life in with your outdoor holiday, this hotel in the heart of Reykjavik can organise a huge variety of trips.

Featured luxury activities in Iceland:

Blue Lagoon Iceland

Mountain Taxi

Snowmobile

Nordurflug Helicopter Tours

Arctic Adventures

Alternative luxury activity:

Golden Circle Classic Day Trip from Reykjavik

This trip aims to fit the cream of Iceland into an eight and a half hour trip, visits Nesjavellir power plant (not guaranteed in winter), Thingvellir, the oldest functioning parliament in the world, Geysir and Strkkur hot springs, charming village if Hveragerdi and the spectacular Gulfoss Waterfall.
