All the details on Kirstie and Phil's holidays on the high seas

Kirstie and Phil checked out holidays on the high seas in budget-friendly Croatia and the budget-busting Maldives.

If you have your own ideas on the best boating holidays, leave your comments at the bottom of the page.

Here's Kirstie and Phil's itinerary:

Featured boating in Croatia:

Katarina Line

With thanks to:

Jadrolinija

The Croatian National Tourist Board

Alternative boating in Croatia:

Lazy Winch Cabin Charter

If you want a taste of the freedom of chartering a yacht but not the price, you can charter a cabin and so with others have far more freedom to control your holiday than a cruise would offer.

Berkeley Hotel

Located in the heart of the old harbour, this boutique hotel is the perfect place to rest up after getting off the ferry to Dubrovnik.

Alternative boating activity in Croatia:

Galleon Tour of the Elafiti Islands

On this traditional pirate galleon you can travel to the three main Elaphiti Islands close to Dubrovnik, get into the warm Adriatic and see the beautiful medieval city from a new angle - all in one day!

Featured boating in the Maldives:

Dhaainkan'baa

With thanks to:

Maldives Mosaique

Maldives Premier Cruises

Let's Go Maldives

Alternative boating in the Maldives:

Yacht Aurora

This boat can be hired by the cabin or in its entirety, and can be your home for a diving safari or just somewhere to lie in the sun and read.

Sea Queen Liveaboard

A liveaboard is an amazing way to get to dive sites that are too far away for day trippers. It means that you can get amazing sites with relative privacy and get completley immersed in diving life.

Alternative boating activity in the Maldives:

Maldive Victory Wreck

This isn't the sort of boat you'd normally want to base a holiday around, given that it's already at the bottom of the ocean. However, when this 35,000 tonne freighter sank in 1981 it created one of the Maldives' top dive sites, which is quite some feat.
