Rachel from Leeds battled weight issues for years before she decided to go under the knife.

She hated what she called her ‘pendulous breasts’, so in 2005 she went to a recommended surgeon for a consultation. Four days later she was back at the clinic for a breast augmentation and lift.

When Rachel came round from her operation, she noticed that one breast was a lot higher than the other. The surgeon reassured her that the swelling would go down, but SIX months later one breast still didn’t look right.

After a second surgeon told her that both of her implants hadn’t been inserted correctly, Rachel launched legal proceedings against the clinic. She won her case, but has been left with misshapen breasts and less self-confidence than before the surgery.

In hindsight, Rachel wishes she’d done her research before she went under the knife, and is passionate about using her experience to educate others about the dangers of cosmetic surgery.
