Anthony D'Amico, or 'Fat Tony', is the head honcho of the Springfield Mafia - but who would suspect a loyal member of the Springfield Legitimate Businessmen's Social Club? Not many, as it happens.
Ranging from selling rat's milk to Springfield Elementary, to intimidating the town's pretzel vendors, Tony has lots of fingers in lots of pies. Pies made from crime.
Tony once tried to recruit Bart Simpson into his gang, after he and his goons were impressed with Bart's skills at the cocktail bar. But when Bart's nemesis Principal Skinner disappeared under mysterious circumstances, many of the townsfolk thought those mysterious circumstances might include some sort of gangster-assisted 'whacking' (as opposed to 'whacking by natural causes', the unfortunate fate of Tony's wife).
Skinner's safe return did little to lessen the menace of the mob. Few in Springfield can escape the mob's influence, be they blue-haired children's entertainer, or tubby mayor-like figure with a preference for cheerleaders.
