The Sex Education Show
About the Show
Hosted by straight-talking Anna Richardson, this series aims to improve the nation's carnal knowledge by offering candid advice on a wide range of sexual issues and problems
Series 4 Summary
In this three-part series Anna Richardson confronts the big businesses who are contributing to the sexualisation of kids, launching a major campaign against the sexualisation of children: Stop Pimping Our Kids!
Anna explores the issues of sexualised clothing for children, explicit magazines displayed on lower shelves in newsagents, and provocative music videos routinely screened well before the watershed.
And Anna and sexual health expert Dr Radha Modgil tours schools up and down the UK answering questions from teenagers about sex.
Episode 1 - The Sex Education Show: Stop Pimping Our Kids
Anna tackles high street giant Primark over children's clothing that transforms kids into sexualised mini adults, and takes Matalan to task over their decision to keep stocking padded bras in the children's section.
The programme takes a look at what kids actually think of padded bras at a pamper party, where little girls get fake tattoos and drink fake champagne; and Anna receive a frosty reception from clothing store security guards when she attempts to present them with an award for inappropriate kids' clothing.
Anna and sexual health expert Dr Radha Modgil are also back on tour in the nation's schools with the Sex Education Roadshow and they'll be answering hundreds of questions from the nation's teenagers about sex.
With fully interactive anatomy classes, they will be looking at the male body in the biggest age range ever of nude models - from 18 to 70 as we reveal how the body changes from boy to man.
Anna will be undoing the damage done by the playground rumour mill in a myth-busting workshop; seeing condoms tested to their safety limits; and there's a parents evening with a difference with a surprise family get together to find out how the rules on dating have transformed in a generation. And there's a second surprise in store when the grandparents arrive!
Episode 2 - The Sex Education Show: Stop Pimping Our Kids
Anna tackles one of the nation's biggest newsagents WH Smiths, who display lads' mags on the lower shelves where toddlers can see them. This is in spite of several attempts by pressure groups and even an attempt at a government bill to move them to the top.
We send in toddler cam - our undercover toddler and mum go for a wander around the store and find sexually suggestive magazines at toddler eye level; near comics and next to small teddy bears. Meanwhile Anna presents an achievement award for inappropriate kids' clothing to another high street store.
Plus Anna and sexual health expert Dr Radha Modgil take the sex education roadshow to Fairfax School in Sutton Coldfield, where they reveal exactly what happens when boy meets girl.
The fully interactive anatomy classes feature three real life couples and discuss the science of arousal, with a thermal camera showing the rise in body temperature that accompanies the first signs of arousal in men and women. Plus pupils visit an STI clinic where they witness genital swabs and see footage of a treatment for genital warts, as well as learn how to protect themselves.
Episode 3 - The Sex Education Show: Stop Pimping Our Kids
Anna investigates some of the music television channels who beam videos packed with shockingly sexual images into homes when children are watching.
She hits the streets with images from recent music videos and asks the public to guess: pop or porn?
Anna confronts the music channel bosses, and shows viewers how to get involved and let the high street stores, newsagents and music channels know they want them to Stop Pimping Our Kids!
Plus Anna and Dr Radha Modgil visit Brislington School in Bristol, where a line up of nude models reveals how the body develops - from girl to woman.
Episode 4 - The Sex Education Show: Stop Pimping Our Kids
An exclusive online premiere of The Sex Education Show. In Stop Pimping Our Kids Girls vs Boys Special the girls are pitched against the boys to find who knows more about sex. The online special also features an update on the progress of the Stop Pimping Our Kids initiative.
The St Edmund's School for Girls in Salisbury go up against the Wyvern School for Boys. The hall is split right down the middle, boys one side, girls the other - revealing how attitudes to sex and relationships differ between the sexes.
Plus it's boys vs girls in the very first Sex Education Show Quiz. Which sex knows the most about sex?
The pupils also learn about having sex for the very first time. Aided by six nude models, the Salisbury pupils get the low-down on what happens to your body when it becomes ready for sex and how you know when the time is right.
And who better to ask for advice than their very own parents? In toe-curling conversations, the pupils' parents tell them about when they lost their virginity and when they believe it's right to have sex for the first time.
The show also reveals how the retailers and music channels have responded to the Stop Pimping Our Kids campaign.
The undercover mums hit the high street shops once more to see if the children's padded bras, high heeled shoes and inappropriate logos have come off the shelves.
And what does Anna Richardson find when she checks out the bottom shelves at WH Smith to see if the lads mags are still there?
