Series 3 Summary
With Britain top of the stats league when it comes to sex, but for all the wrong reasons, Anna Richardson gives teenagers across the UK some much needed, up front sex education lessons.
Latest stats in the UK show a record 41,000 teen pregnancies as well as over half of all sexually transmitted infections being in the 16 to 24-year-old age group. But a recent government bill that would have made vital aspects of sex education compulsory in schools was dropped. Teens still not only need, but want better sex education.
The four shows in this mini series asks the question every teenager asks at some point: am I normal? Along with sexual health expert Dr Radha Modgil, Anna visits schools and colleges across the country exploring the fact that it really is OK to be different.
The series features live interactive anatomy lessons, and examine a wide range of issues, from teen pregnancy and sexual health, to sex for people with disabilities, the overweight, and the aged.
Episode 1 - The Sex Education Show: Am I Normal?
Anna Richardson and sexual health expert Dr Radha Modgil travel to Haywood Engineering College, where students get live interactive lessons in male anatomy.
From penises to pubes, and balls to bums, the students find out everything they need to know about the male body, and discover that no two are the same.
Anna also visits an old people's day centre to find out what OAPs really get up to, and learns out how to keep old-age sex alive from sex therapist Mary Clegg.
Episode 2 - The Sex Education Show: Am I Normal?
The Sex Education roadshow continues as Anna and Dr Radha give teens from Glenthorne School, Surrey live interactive lessons in female anatomy
The students get abreast of boobs, and the lowdown on labia, discovering that when it comes to women's bodies, no two are the same.
Also Anna meets people with different physical disabilities who tell her how they manage to have great sex.
Episode 3 - The Sex Education Show: Am I Normal?
The teens at Raines School in east London receive live anatomy lessons featuring elderly male and female models as they learn how the body and sex changes with age.
The students also learn the truth about vaginal health and are encouraged to overcome the ultimate in embarrassment, talking about sex with your parents!
Anna discusses favourite positions with two plus-size women. And the show meets Ed Evans whose obesity resulted at one point in `buried penis syndrome', with him unable to have penetrative sex.
Episode 4 - The Sex Education Show: Am I Normal?
At the Bourne Grammar School, near Peterborough, Anna and Dr Radha give teens ground-breaking lessons in sex education, with the focus on pregnancy.
The pupils also receive lessons in changing nappies and feeding infants. And the show explores the reality of having an abortion.
Anna visits a disco for people with learning disabilities. She also meets married couple Tonda and Martin. Tonda has Down's syndrome, and Martin was brain damaged at birth. But against all the odds the couple have managed to maintain a happy relationship and sex life for over fifteen years
