Next, the contestants visit the wilds of Peru, beginning in Cusco, which was the capital city of the Inca Empire.
They must let the local Shaman's boa constrictor snakes lead them to their next location, the church of Qoricancha: an Inca temple turned into a monastery by the invading Spanish. Inside its amazing courtyard they must seek the stolen sun disc.
Next, they must negotiate miles of caves alleged to hold the secret hidden gold of the Inca in Sacsayhuman. The contestants paddle water rapids to Ollantaytambo, the best surviving example of Inca city planning.
The last stage takes them to the magical site of Machu Picchu, the 'Lost City of the Incas'. Forgotten by the outside world for centuries, it was brought back to international attention by the archaeologist Hiram Bingham in 1911.
Only the finder of the symbol is guaranteed to play in the final.
