Shortwave Set was assembled in 2004, when Andrew Pettitt and David Farrell heard Scandanavian siren Ulrika Bjorsne singing at a party with an acoustic guitar.
They called their first album 'The Debt Colelction', referring not only to the artists they had sampled, but also the large bank loan they had taken out to fund the recording.
They have since received admiration from Goldfrapp - with whom they toured - and Moby, who claimed their reworking of 'Dream About Me' was the best remix he had ever heard.
In 2007, Brian 'Danger Mouse' Burton - the producer behind Gnarls Berkeley and the second Gorrillaz album - invited Shortwave Set to record their second album, 'Replica Sun Machine', at his LA studio.
