Character Profiles

Moss

Thursday 18 December 2008

Moss lives with his mum, who also dresses him, styles his hair and buys his clothes.

He's highly intelligent, scared of spiders and has the social skills of a serial killer. The closest he's got to a woman is Lara Croft, and he struggles to communicate with anything that doesn't have a keyboard.

Richard Ayoade is best known for his work alongside long-term writing partner, Matthew Holness, as co-creator of the Perrier Award-winning Horror writer Garth Marenghi. He went on to co-write and direct AD/BC, a Christmas rock opera for BBC3, and starred in Chris Morris' Channel 4 comedy, Nathan Barley.

  1. I just noticed that Richard Ayoade sounds exactly like Philip Molly (Will Grundy of The Archers)

  2. Why does Moss look like a member of Boney M? Does he know how to sing Sunny?

  3. Moss is Boss! I'm from the states and my brother and I laugh at the fact that we're prolly the only black guys in Seattle scouring the net for british comedies, and usually because Ayoade is in them. Darkplace is almost funnier to joke about than to actually watch. Nathan Barley was spot on with Geekpie episode, the japanese will go for anything, love em for it. My only quarrel with britcom is the whole six episode thing. I really need more.

  6. Wow, I want to tell you that you guys have fans in the US. We stream you on Netflix, and the entire family watches your every episode. I'm an IT manager, and have several "Mosses" working for me. Most comedies in the US have a team of writers, and you guys have only one? Brilliant writing, incredible actors, and pee-in-your-pants funny. Sorry those boneheads in the US didn't pick up your US pilot. Let me know if you need someone to start the the Richard Ayoade fan club! Come to America and do some stand-up on your time off!!!

  8. I am from America, and I have had a chance to see the IT Crowd and I along with my family think it is one of the best show on TV. I hope there are many more episodes to come and we get to see them here. Keep up the good work. The charactors are great we need to see a lot more of Douglas.
