Kaspar Astrup Schröder's film is a portrait of one of the world's more eccentric inventors. Octogenarian Yoshiro Nakamatsu claims to hold over 3,000 patents - among them the basic technology for the floppy disk, the digital display and an aphrodisiac called Love Jet.

He was awarded the 2005 Ig Nobel Prize for Nutrition, for photographing and retrospectively analyzing every meal he has consumed during a period of 34 years (and counting). He fully intends to live to the age of 144 years thanks to a strict dietary regime and plenty of exercise in between trips to the patent office, book signings and lectures.

And, of course, he is still coming up with inventions, using his tried and trusted method of immersion in water and holding his breath until an idea pops into his head; fortunately he invented the underwater notepad so he can record his latest brainwave.
