About George Clarke

George Clarke is an architect, writer, lecturer and TV presenter.

George cares passionately about the scandal of Britain's empty homes. He was born and raised in Sunderland in the North East of England, and got the idea for his current series when he noticed the number of homes that seemed to be standing empty year after year. Once he started to dig deeper, he realised that right across Britain there's a chronic empty homes problem - and that he could be the person to do something about it.

After studying architecture at the University of Newcastle and University College London, he started his own practice with business partner Bobby Desai and together they were responsible for a number of residential and urban design projects across the world. In 2011 he set up his new company George Clarke + Partners.
