Series Summary
Starting in Brussels, the heart of the Common Market, The Gravy Train can be picked up anywhere in Europe as it makes its way up beef and butter mountains, across wine lakes and through forests of paperwork. The passengers are politicians, bureaucrats and entrepreneurs, careerists to a man, eager to make their reputations and, in one or two cases, illicit fortunes.
But there is an exception. Our young hero Hans-Joachim Dorfman is an innocent idealist determined to bring about a united Europe. Instead, he unwittingly stumbles upon a huge and breathtaking fraud that transforms his life.
