We caught up with Sue McArd from Series 2, Episode 1 to see how life has changed since Hayley's visit.
How are you getting on in your job?
I'm still at the game shop and it's brilliant! They've trained me up to do everything and everyone has been great. I've made lots of new friends and I've been doing a few days up in their second store in Liverpool too.
What would you be doing now if you hadn't met Hayley?
I think I'd be panicking now because when my baby became seven I had to find a job. Hayley gave me the confidence I needed to do something different rather than beauty therapy. Up until the show I was searching for beauty therapy work and didn't consider going for anything else. She helped me with my CV and gave me the confidence boost I needed to get going in my career. The interview training on the show really helped me too.
What do you think the future holds for you now? Any new ambitions?
I really want to keep doing the best I can at the shop. The future's bright!
What advice would you give to someone in your position before the show?
Don't let your confidence get knocked. It really doesn't matter how long you've been unemployed for as long as you're prepared to put the work in. There's a job out there for everyone, you just have to look for it.
How has your life changed since filming The Fairy Jobmother?
My life has totally changed since the show. I have much more confidence and getting back to work has really helped me to become more independent. I'm not just stuck at home anymore and my life isn't just about cleaning and watching TV. I have more money to buy the things my little girl needs and I don't need to worry anymore.
