According to a 2002 poll, 59% of Americans believe that the prophecies in the Book of Revelation are destined to happen. These End-Timers have powerful political friends in the White House and their opponents believe that they're actively trying to make sure that these events actually happen.

In this revealing film, Robinson meets the people who believe that Israel will fight a nuclear war with the armies of Islam; that millions of believers around the world will be spirited up to heaven in the blink of an eye; that the Secretary General of the UN will turn out to be the Anti-Christ; and that the world will end after the Battle of Armageddon.

  1. I found this pretty decent expos? of current evangelical thought on the end times; too heavily biased in favour of secular thinking but that's only to be expected. Less shaky camera work and subtler dramatisation of biblical excerpts would have made it more thought provoking rather than less, in my opinion. Clearly this style was adopted to create an edgier (artier) mood but I found it a distraction from the information being presented. The same applies to the choice of sound quality for different content sections. When will production teams realise that people like to watch documentaries at fixed volume levels without having to constantly readjust, to stop the presenter from booming, or to hear the literary passage being read? I was also quite disappointed that, given that some of the locations being referenced (like the Temple Mount and the Plain of Megiddo) were in the close vicinity, the production team didn't make more of an effort to film them, but seemed fixated on close-ups of people's faces. There were far too many shots of old men's warts and nose hairs in there for my tastes, considering the beautiful surroundings that could have been shown.

  3. I think Edward and Joe aren't very clever. Not watched the programme yet, but I think Tony Robinson was good in Blackadder.
