First in a four-part drama telling the story of the English Civil War through the eyes of a spirited aristocratic woman.

Angelica is born in 1623, when England is divided both politically and religiously, a time when political disobedience turned to revolution and civil war, and English history changed forever.

It is the start of a road that will change inexorably not only Angelica's life, but all of those with whom she comes into contact, including the most important figures of this tumultuous time.

  1. Hi there, Being as everyone (including myself) is now keen to see more of Dominic West on our screens, could you please re-broadcast 'The Devil's Whore'? Sadly I've developed a bad case of Westonitus and can find no cure for my prevailing ailment, so I guess a good dose of him is my only other option. I'm sure you've already considered how high your audience numbers would be for a repeat showing of the series. Oh and thank you also for your quality programming and support for excellent British film-making. Nice to see someone's got priorities in place on the matter. Many thanks, Louise
