Outlawed in the UK since 1985, female circumcision is still carried out on at least two million girls every year around the world.
This moving film addresses the issue of female circumcision in Kenya in a frank manner, talking to girls who have been circumcised and filming the agonised reactions of two young sisters as they undergo circumcision.
The programme also hears from those who try to help young girls adjust to the effects of the ordeal, and other girls who would rather take their parents to court than be forced to undergo an agonising, perilous and unnecessary process.
