One of the new neigbours that Cleveland encounters on his return to Stoolbend Virginia is Lester Krinklesac. Lester is a 'good old boy' or to put it another way a 'redneck'. He has the redneck regulation mullet, moustache and Confederate flag, but he's still a good neighbour to Donna and tries to protect her when he thinks Cleveland could be her latest stalker. He has no time for Donna's ex-husband Robert, who, he believes, took his good ladder and never returned it. Cleveland too soon befriends Lester and joins him as a drinking buddy, alongside Tim and Holt, at the local dive The Broken Stool.
Lester is married to Kendra, a lady so large she needs a motorised scooter to travel around the house. He also has a son, Ernie, who makes friends with Cleveland jr. and has a pet possum. In true southern gentleman style, Lester likes to shoot things and eat things, including the Tubbs' kids pet dog, once Cleveland has run it over with his car.
