Find out more about the four contributors who are determined to turn their lives around and remove anorexia's control over their lives.

Ashley Day

Age: 20

Height: 5 foot 9.5

The Catalyst: I spend too much time alone

Before Ashley became ill, he was the life and soul of every party and very popular with girls. Going out and socialising is now a rarity and he spends a lot of time alone. At age 17 Ashley was a very self-confident and popular young man. He was playing football at a high level and looked to have a promising career as a professional goal keeper. Sadly, he seriously injured his hand, and as a result, was no longer able to pursue his dream of being a professional football player. While recovering from his hand injury, because he was exercising less, he began to feel guilty about his calorie intake. He wasn't burning off the calories he normally would be and therefore started to restrict what he ate. This behaviour has since spiralled and Ashley struggles not to obsess about the very little he does manage to consume.

Fiona Kelly

Age: 25

Height: 5 ft 5

The Change Trigger: I’ve never had a relationship

Fiona is desperate to get back to doing the maths teaching she loves and is determined to get herself back up to a healthy weight.

Fiona began restricting her food intake at age 17. She was severely bullied during secondary school and so when the time came for her to move on to University, Fiona was terrified of a repeat scenario. She felt so emotionally out of control, she found the only way she could cope with her fear of social rejection was to control her food consumption.

She struggled with anorexia throughout university but didn't seek out any help or admit to being anorexic. Once she had completed her teaching training and first six months teaching, she found she was unable to cope with the daily pressures of work life and finally sought out help.

Fiona doesn't like to dress up or wear make-up because she's terrified that if she think she looks ok, she'l lose her motivation to put an end to the anorexia.

Morag Fieldsend

Age: 36

Height: 5 foot 5

The Change Trigger: I don't want my daughter to suffer like I do

Morag has been fighting anorexia since 1992 and today, as a 36 year old mother of one, she continues to deal with the residues of her anorexia.

For Morag it all started before when she entered a teacher training course she didn't feel ready for. She stopped eating proper meals and soon she lived on crisps and diet drinks.

When she and her husband wanted to have kids she forced herself to eat to get her periods back. As soon as she stopped breast feeding she lost all the weight she had originally gained to get pregnant.

Roz Hallard

Age: 37

Height: 5 foot 2

The Change Trigger: I dread the weekends

Roz developed anorexia during pregnancy but she only received an offical diagnosis three years ago. Since then Roz has struggled to find the right treatment.

Roz has been with her husband for 18 years and they have a 5-year son old William. After several years in Thailand, Roz moved to England with her husband and a combination of the change in lifestyle and later, becoming pregnant led her to seek control by restricting her food intake.

Roz applied to the show to get the extra help she needs to get her over anorexia. She hopes to be free of anorexia in five years but admits that she can't imagine a life without it.
